The First Day In YMCA- Jin Lin

This is my first time go to YMCA, I have interesting with everything. In this picture, they are my  classmates. They are going to make a team. Do you see Emily in the picture?

Tina is talking with me about this project. Also, Ma Tianhao is standing behind Tina, he is looking at something. I am sewing the sun in the fabric.

He is Andi, this is his first time to do sew, but he does very well. For many men, this is the first time they do by handcrafts, but they are very hard to do it. Although, there are a lot of jokes in the process, but they still work. Especially for Andi, he does a good job with his pink baby bottle. Can you see he is drinking milk now?

This is my job, be a professional helper in the team!

THe last day of YMCA -Gracy

That day was the last time we been to YMCA this quarter.
That means we need to say goodbye to lots of great people, and hope we will meet sometime somewhere at Savannah.
I took lots of videos for my final project movie.
I wanted to talk about their neighborhood.
I asked them where they live and how they feel.
All of them enjoy living in Savannah.
Two of them think its safe to live here.
Kids talked about what they do at home and we ran around at the playground.

We went to Ms. Pat's house and met one of her neighbor, who is her best friend here also.
She said people live at this neighborhood are usually old people, not many young people around.
It was a nice day.
We said goodbye to kids and Ms. Pat.
It was great to meet them.

First met with Ms. Pat -Gracy

Today a few seniors came in. Each of group would have one senior and we would talk to them and ask them questions.
So we met a really nice lady, Patricia Beaton, Ms. Pat we called her.

We picked up some tools from the box, and we started talking. She showed us several things and how to use them.
Sadly i lost my SD card and lost all my videos, or i can show them.
She showed us how to wrap a scarf on her head to tide her hair, she showed us how to curl her hair use the old tool, and how to strait her hair with a hair brush looking tool.
We asked her several questions about history.
She told us that Georgia State University used to be a school for only African Americans, and Armstrong Atlantic University was for only Americans.
Emily and i were both interested in the history she knew about.

The first time to YMCA -Gracy

I wasn't nervous the first day because i've been here before for babysitting during last quarter. But i was with the younger babies than these kids. When i came into the room, i saw a white girl writing on her book and sitting by the table. She looked so quiet, and i thought all the kids here might be quiet. I've never been with many kids before.

A lovely girl and her mommy.

After few minutes, three people who looked like teacher came in and later on a big group of kids came in. One of the girl named Savannah caught my attention during her introduction. She was so lovely and cute, and she was not shy at all. The kid named Levi was in Cheryl and I's group. We started to talk. He was shy, and quiet. We found out that it was too hard to make a kid talk to someone they did not know. We kept talking for an hour and got nothing back. We only knew that his name was Levi, he was shy, and he could draw really well.

After all we took a picture with Levi and another one with him and his picture. He is looking great in the picture and looks like a real man~~
However, the first wasn't too bad. We started to get to know how to communicate with kids and tried to know what they like.

"The Book of Eli" is a movie by Denzel Washington.I loved this movie, and by accident i met a boy at YMCA and his name is Eli. I  had surprised because i thought they created this name for the movie. yet, it wasn't, it was a real name.
I like Denzel Washington, and i like "Eli".
I meet Ms Ann, she was a very nice person. she told the supervisor that she didn't understood our speaking, this was very natural from her. sometimes we don't understand each other at the class.
I loved Ms Ann, i hope to see her again.
